What is SATHI?

SATHI is an AI emotional wellbeing app for adults in India. You can talk through a hard day, in English, Hindi or Hinglish, whenever you need to, on the web at sathi.world or in the Android app.

Is SATHI therapy?

No. SATHI is an AI, not a therapist, a doctor or an emergency service, and it says so before you start and whenever you ask. It is a private place to think out loud, and a quick route to real people when it matters.

Am I talking to a real person?

No. SATHI is an AI. Nobody watches conversations in real time, so SATHI cannot send help or alert anyone.

How much does SATHI cost?

SATHI is free during the beta, and nobody is charged. When SATHI Plus opens, the first 12 hours will be free and SATHI Plus will be Rs 199 a month. Help Now and crisis support are always free.

What are the 12 free hours?

When SATHI Plus opens, everyone gets 12 hours of full access, starting at the first message they send. Until then, everything in SATHI is free.

Is my conversation private?

It is private from the SATHI team, with one limit during the beta. Everything you tell SATHI is encrypted before it is stored, the database keeps every account separate, and nobody on the team reads conversations unless you opt in to de-identified research review. The limit: our AI providers (Google Gemini and Groq) process messages to write replies, and on Gemini's free tier Google may use what you send and human reviewers may read it. The Privacy Notice says exactly what that means.

Does anyone read my chats?

No one on the SATHI team reads your conversations unless you opt in to de-identified research review. On Gemini's free tier, Google may use content to improve its products and human reviewers may read it, so please don't share names or details that identify you.

Can I talk to SATHI in Hindi or Hinglish?

Yes. SATHI replies in English, Hindi (Devanagari) or Hinglish (Hindi in Roman letters), and follows the language you write in.

What happens if I'm in crisis?

SATHI shows India's crisis lines straight away, under a fixed line written by a person. They are Tele-MANAS 14416 or 1-800-891-4416 (free, 24/7) and 112 in an emergency, each with a Call button. The AI does not write that reply, and SATHI cannot call anyone for you.

How do I cancel SATHI Plus?

In the app, open About me, then Your plan, then Cancel auto-renew. Nothing more is charged and you keep SATHI Plus to the end of the month you paid for. Once you cancel, auto-renew can't be turned back on; you can subscribe again when the month ends.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 7 days of any charge, in full, without giving a reason. Write to us from the Contact page; a refund ends SATHI Plus when it is made.

Is SATHI on iPhone and Android?

Yes. On Android, the app installs from sathi.world/download during the beta. On iPhone, SATHI runs as the same app in Safari at sathi.world/app and can be added to your Home Screen.

Can colleges or companies offer SATHI?

Yes, as a confidential wellbeing benefit for people aged 18 and over. The organisation never sees anyone's messages, name or individual activity; see For colleges and teams.

Who can use SATHI?

Adults 18 and over, in India. SATHI asks for your year of birth before you start. From outside India it shows a worldwide helpline directory instead.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. In About me, Delete everything removes your account, profile and conversations immediately and permanently.
